Winsome manglore

The smell of this new place was really so good. As I was pulling my luggage out of the airport I was welcomed by a big banner saying “welcome to the print capital of India”. yeah! It’s Mangalore. Breathe of Arabian sea with cool shelters of coconut trees a way differently life styled city compared to other cities in India. I has been to Karnataka before it’s Bangalore but Mangalore was so different in its(Karnataka) style and so deep rooted. I haven’t looked much into the city this time because I was more into food. The food here was touching my heart more than love actually, I felt like I was on a food tour coconut oil and home grown spices are making their food more tastier. Yeah! Home grown. Every house was having a garden & well and you will even forget about such thing called pollution while in this city . Maybe people here are nature lovers. I should have asked them the reason but I haven’t interacted with people because of linguistic reasons next time I try to be better with my language. Though Kannada was the main language here mostly they talk Thulu . This language has got no literature and it doesn’t sound similar with other south Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu,Malayalam. But most people are mutual with Hindi Most of the city was on the hilly slopes and backwaters cutting through the city. Mangalore was the origin of many dishes like Mangalore buns,Kori roti, ghee chicken roast. This trip to Mangalore and udipi’s gives me a thought ..what if we had relatives at every place . It would be different if I go somewhere as guest than as a tourist . Then I could learn things in different way. Maybe I should make friends in my way but, tough to an introvert .

Kori roti and chicken suka made with spices will swag your taste buds. Mangalore attractions are mostly beaches and temples and I have also visited Udipi and Kundapura which are 40km and 70km far from Mangalore . Udipi was most exotic place for the food lovers. The popular South Indian dish Masala Dosa has made it to the list of ’10 foods to try before you die’, compiled by the Huffington Post. The list, prepared by travel blog viator for the newspaper, includes dishes from around the world as a must-try for travellers. Udipi was similar town as Mangalore but Mangalore was more urbanized. Udipi’s malpay beach was best place to hang around. I liked Udipi’s curvy sloppy roads, trees blocking the sun,way down to road. Malpay beach was almost filled with people and fried smell. Malpay beach was also an adventure spot there are boat rides, ATVs, paragliding, speed boats , and ferry rides. Popular Tuluva dishes include Neer Dosa, Masala Dosa,”Chicken Ghee Roast”,”Chicken Sukka”,Kori Rotti (dry rice flakes dipped in gravy), Bangude Pulimunchi (spicy sour silver-grey mackerels), Beeja-Manoli Upkari, Neer dosa (lacy rice-crêpes), Boothai Gasi, Kadubu, and Patrode. The Konkani community’s specialities include Daali thoy, bibbe-upkari, val val, avnas ambe sasam, Kadgi chakko, paagila podi, and chane gashi. Vegetarian cuisine in Mangalore, also known as Udupi cuisine, is known and liked throughout the state and country. Since Mangalore is a coastal town, fish forms the staple diet of most people. Mangalorean Catholics’ Sanna-Dukra Maas (Sanna – idli fluffed with toddy or yeast; Dukra Maas – Pork), Pork Bafat, Sorpotel and the Mutton Biryani of the Muslims are well-known dishes. Pickles such as happala, sandige and puli munchi are unique to Mangalore. Khali , a country liquor prepared from coconut flower sap is famous.

Explore breathtaking kanchipuram

The morning of holi ragas and raising sun behind the monumental towers of the temple and the smell of filter coffee and cows triggering traffic jam was nothing new to this Holi city ‘THE LAND OF THOUSAND TEMPLES in India’ Kanchipuram or kanchi. The city which is located 72km from chennai the state capital of Tamil Nadu. Every street, every road you get a glimpse of temples. And almost all of them are old enough which have seen the ancient Indian cultures and traditions. The oldest temple Ekambareswarar Temple (Kachi Ekambam) was built in 600BC by palavas and modified by Nayaks of Tanjore was still standing as mighty structure in the center of the city with a gateway tower of 59m high which is one of the highest in India.

Every temple has its clam of fame their architectural designs their massive size and carvings and sculptures on their walls. The city’s mornings start early with the morning prayers and soon the streets and roads fill with trumping sounds of horns and men yelling at others for overtaking or some other reason pretty common in every Indian city. I really felt like having a strong relation with this city . As I came from a developing city where we can see our traditions very less but here even though it’s developed we could find many traditions around us. The city is best place for people who are bored of corporate life.
